First Impressions: In the Flesh or Online.

Quite a few people know that the best way to procrastinate is to attack another less onerous task that you’ve been putting off. As I overthink what to pack with me for my quick zip-zap-zop visit to Paris I figured what a great time to wash my make up brushes, do dishes, and write a blog post!

In the past couple of weeks I’ve had the pleasure of attending my first and second meet and greets. I had first heard about these about six months ago on The Sexy Escort Guide Podcast, I of course wanted in!  I’ve brought the subject up with some of my friends and most were surprised to learn that such events existed in the area.

These events are exciting. You get to match faces with twitter profiles, get to chat a little to build clientele as well as network with other companions, and it’s just plain fun to get to dress up and go to a party where the purpose of their presence is to meet you! I met so many smiling faces and ran into some old friends, but the most fascinating part is seeing how well your mental vision of someone matches up with the reality. As somebody who started advertising after the demise of TER I know a lot of people have been hesitant to book me due to my lack of reviews. I personally prefer to never kiss and tell and appreciate that my suitors are of the same inclination but I do think that the meet and greet really helped some people who were hemming and hawing with booking.

The number one question I was asked by new suitors was where I advertise. I thought this was peculiar that people who are getting a face to face first impression would be curious as to the methods most people get their first impressions but I think certain names of advertising sites established a level of legitimacy for some of the suitors.

I currently advertise on Eros, primarily because it is the big one that most new business defaults to, although I feel like Slixa has been giving it a run for its money, it’s concise, has a much better layout, and will actually tell you what is allowed and isn’t on a profile. I frequently hear that the site brings no business for some providers but in my experience I’ve gotten enough to keep advertising there.  Many providers push Tryst and while I’ve gotten a scant few bookings from there I stay because it’s free for providers, oh and they do verify us to make sure we aren’t spam bots which is nice for any potential friends perusing their listings. I’ve only recently started advertising on Private Delights and I have to say it’s been great! Especially for bay area appointments. Private Delights also allows for reviews so I’m eagerly anticipating my first one.

As of now the only site I’m not on but would like to be is p411, I’m working on getting my vouches (I have one person willing, we are trying to figure out how to do it exactly though). Hopefully their method of taking others’ words for it will provide me some legitimacy so the few scaredy cats out there can feel a little less threatened or at least a little less suspicious.

Ok…I should probably stop procrastinating. But I have to say, it’s been a lovely couple of weeks meeting so many new faces and some connecting with some new friends. At the very least it was great to finally distribute some of my gorgeous business cards.
